The Macon Film Festival is in full swing as they prepare for the 9th annual film festival beginning February 27, 2014 and lasting through March 2.
The organization held it’s 2014 kickoff event at The SoChi Gallery on October 10, where they proudly announced their 2013-2014 board of directors, the festival’s new mission and one of the special screenings.
The 2013/2014 board of directors is:

Along with new members, the Macon Film Festival introduced their new mission statement:
“Surrounded by a rich music and Southern culture, the Macon Film Festival celebrates independent films while promoting filmmaking for entertainment, inspiration, education, and economic development.”
Festival organizers are excited to announce the first Special Screening for the 2014 film festival is Muscle Shoals, a music documentary featuring several Macon, Georgia connections. The film screened at the 2013 Sundance, SXSW, and HotDoc festivals. More information about the special guests that will be in attendance will be announced soon.
