Dead rock stars make an appearance at THE 27 CLUB, an art exhibition opening on First Friday, October 2, 2015 at The SoChi Gallery. The event is 6-9pm at 534 Second Street in Downtown Macon. Admission is free and open to the public.

The 27 Club is a term that refers to a group of famous musicians who died at age 27 as a result of drug and alcohol abuse. They were some of the most impactful talents of their generation. Although dozens of musicians have died at 27, these are these are the musicians and artists who are considered “The 27 Club”: Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kurt Cobain and Amy WinehouseThe 27 Club poster

The exhibit will feature art works by Daniel Dussault, Priscilla Esser, Daniel Montoute and Shannon Riddle. The exhibit will remain up through October 30th. For more info on the exhibition, see the Facebook event page HERE.

“I was inspired to do this show when we (Macon Film Festival) partnered with Macon Film Guild and Bragg Jam to bring the documentary AMY to The Douglass Theatre on October 20th,” said Terrell Sandefur, owner of The SoChi Gallery.  “A show of this theme has never been done in Macon, to my knowledge, and I think it will make for a cool exhibit and a nice compliment and precursor to the AMY movie screening on October 20.”
